The show was really good too from Pasadena. I watched it live.. and no I could not see my sister but she was there.

What is wrong with airline pilots this week. On Monday, a Delta Boeing 767 with 182 passengers landed on a taxiway instead of its assigned runway at Atlanta's Hartsfield airport. A taxi way instead of a runway?? Pilots can't tell the damn difference between a narrower taxi way and a runway? Are you kidding me.
Then there were ( key word..were. They were decertified by the F.A.A this week ) the 2 pilots on NorthWest Airlines flight 188 from San Diego to Minneapolis who "got distracted " and overshot the runway.. make that the airport and city by...over 150 miles !!
The pilots claim they were distracted by a laptop computer with the new schedule . ( It is against the F.A.A policy to have a laptop operating while in flight ). It was only when a flight attendant knocked on the cockpit door that the pilots realized they overflew the city.
Huh? You mean they had no idea they were that far off track? Good pilots !
Now for the amazing part. Air Traffic Controllers lost all radio contact for over an hour and the military were only told about it just under an hour after communications were lost.
Haven't they learned a damn thing about airliners losing radio contact? Although there was no warning from the plane, it is irrelevant. The pilots could have been dead and everything appear normal on radar.
They did not hear the calls, they did not see their instruments telling them they were over Minneapolis. They did not see any of the flickering city lights below.
They totally ignored ALL instruments and lost track of time.
They have been let go by the airline as well as De-Certified by the FAA.
The fact is the military SHOULD have been notified immediately and a fighter jet SHOULD have been sent out to investigate .
The fact is this did not happen. The military were told about it but were also told to "stand by".
They never scrambled a jet the entire time.
The pilots finally respond and land... over an hour late.

I really like The Jay Leno Show on NBC at 11pm.. kind of different format than when he was with The Tonight Show but I am glad he is doing well in the ratings.
