Thanksgiving Monday. Banks are closed, all government offices are closed, there is no mail service, most businesses are open only until 6 pm or so.
Yet many places have to remain open.. even though there may be no one around.
I know tonight it is not going to be very busy after 8pm.. so I better have something to do to kill off the time.
Anyway. I am thankful this year that I have good friends, a great family.. a job that gives me security, good health and good warm clothing to keep me warm from this friggin cold snap... I know I know.. it's October what did I expect?? I know!!! SHUT UP !
I hate the cold weather. Anything below 0 and I am cold. I am no polar bear or penguin !
I am a warm blooded mammal ..warm being the key word here.

What the heck is wrong with the city of Toronto? First they allowed schools to segregate black students ( note: I said BLACK.. not African Canadian ) from White students ( Rosa Parks and the like would be rolling over in their graves for this one ) and allowing a school to register BLACK students ONLY . What a shame.
And now.. they are going after a seniors home telling the folks there that they need to buy a permit... to walk in the park !
That's right. A permit to walk in the park.
Under the "law" a permit is required for any commercial activity that is conducted on city property.
They are not selling anything or conducting any other business other than a bi-weekly stroll through the park . But the city ( silly) counsellors want them to pay for a permit to do so ..at a cost of $230 !
Ridiculous! What a scam! Sucking money out of seniors is bad enough when they are regular joe smith.. but now the city wants in.

Two Americans were given NOBEL PRIZES... for economics ! Wow! Considering the shape of the U.S economy, I wonder what they would have gotten if it was more stable!
Are you kidding me? First Obama gets one for whoknowswhat.. and now these two for economics.
Kinda funny ! But then again... maybe not!

This wednesday night I will be working again at the E.E.C for the JET concert. Never heard of these guys but if it's anything like the band last week, it should be a good show. I am having fun doing these concerts. I love the atmosphere and the whole aspect of what it takes to put a show on.
Most people never get a chance to see how things are all put together from morning until show time.
I read an article yesterday on what it takes to put on the 18 minute pre-game show at REXALL Place.
The break down is unreal. From morning until late afternoon , technicians working on this and that.. and then timing every thing.
The amount of time and energy to put on a show is amazing. There is so much work being done behind the scenes.
Like us, as an example. We show up an hour before doors open to organize the security. Barricades, barriers, placement assignments, etc etc.
Once the show starts, there has been so much already done.
Same when the show is over... a sigh of relief ..then all the stuff has to be put away... it's quite the sight to see.
Anyway... that's all I have today.
