It was 28 years ago today that the world mourned the death of John Lennon. Ironic how here was John fighting , so to speak, for peace and love thy neighbour etc and he was killed by a gun! I remember when I first heard about it. I was listening to the radio and in mid song, the DJ broke in to relay the news. It was shocking for me to even believe that someone would do that!

If Jim Morrison were alive today, he would be 65 years old.

Ok..back to business. Anyone watch The Amazing Race. Nick and Starr ( brother and sister ) won the race to claim the million dollar prize. Glad for them! Here comes the But... part. They were the creepiest brother / sister EVER ! Who holds hands while running? Who keeps telling the other how much they love them? Who cuddles in the cab back seat while being driven somewhere? I mean it is one thing to have a good bond with your sis/ brother. But this one is a wee bit on the CREEPY SIDE !

Out of the 11 stops, Nick and Starr were the first ones to arrive at pitstops an incredible 7 times.. each time winning prizes. As each team arrive, they are only at the stops for about 12hrs rest and then off again. Here is the map of the race, starting on the left side in Los Angeles, follow the lines going south then west..all done in 23 days, 40,000 miles, 5 continents, 8 countries, and 18 cities..

As you can see, it is quite the race. But it would be an amazing experience. One nice thing is when a team is eliminated, they are flown to a resort where they stay for the duration of filming. To keep the suspense, only the first 5 or 6 teams are sent there. The others are decoy teams who continue to " race" to prevent spoilers.

Once the last three teams have been determined, all the other contestants are then flown in to the final destination and wait for the final 3 to arrive!

On average, the race is about 40,000 to 50,000 miles, taking from 20 to 30 days to film.

Either way, if eliminated or not, you need at least 30 days to do the race.

Would you not love to do something like this? I would. In a heart beat!
