Sorry I haven't written in awhile. I usually try to blog at least a couple of times a week but this week was an exception more than the rule. WHAT A WEEK !

Monday started out like any other week.. until 2:30 pm when I saw one of my managers with all her things standing at the door. She looked at me and blurted out she was just let go. Baffling really. Later on I heard that there was another let go as well. Also from the nights crew. We were all shocked and very upset that this happened to an industry that is virtually recession-proof. But .. why just on the nights crew? Would it not have been better to do one from the days crew and one from the nights crew? Would have made more sense to me.. but then again it was not me that made the decision.

Tuesday everyone was stll pretty upset and it showed. You can literally feel the frustration and anger.

Wednesday: Not my kind of day. I never ran around from one end of the building to the other. Either bags needed to be opened and inspected, or there were tests going on. IT was CrAzY. I had soo much to do, I never even had a chance to get a bite to eat.

Thursday: A bit quieter.. I actually got a chance to sit back for a bit. What a change in 24 hrs.

So my shift ended last night at 8pm. I went home, turned on the TV to the hockey game ( way to go OILERS beating the crap out of the Colorado Avs...8-1 .. Sam Gagner got a hat-trick (3 goals ) and it was great ).

Then HELL'S KITCHEN.. wow! What a disasterous night for the aspiring chefs.. one of whom got booted out of the kitchen and off the show! Over cooked the rice for BOTH teams.. so no risotto for any diners ( OHH THE HUMANITY ! NO RISOTTO !!!! ). Boy was Chef Ramsey pissed. He was just losing it ! I wish Lacey would be kicked off..what a sniffling whining whoa is me ! She is a quitter and the contestants know it but yet she is still on the show.

Now this is funny..but it was also embarrassing. Last night I opened my patio doors to look outside and get some air when I noticed smoke over my neighbour's BBQ.. a lot of smoke. I ran over and bang on her door. She opens the door and all I tell her is her BBQ is smoking like mad. I run out onto her balcony and touch her BBQ..stone cold. I then smell downy.. wtf? I then realize the smoke is really coming from the dryer vent from the unit one floor down.. I turn to her and she had this deer in the headlights look. I turned 6 shades of red immediately.

I am sure she appreciated it that I noticed something like that and was concerned. I am glad it was not a fire but now that I sit here , I have to laugh at it. The amazing thing was it looked like it was coming from her BBQ and not from the vent below. It was that convincing.

I am on days off now from work.. couldn't have come any sooner. This was a brutal week and I hope to never have one of them again.
