HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM !

It's my mom's birthday today.. and where is she? IN LAS VEGAS ! Yup! My folks and my older sister went down to visit my other sister and brother in law in L.A and they decided to take my folks to Vegas for her birthday. They are off tonight to see a show ( Cirque du Soleil ) .. I kind of chuckle at the whole idea of my folks being in Las Vegas because that is the one place I just can not imagine them spending ANY time there.

I can picture my dad just scratching his head in disbelief at all the gamblers ,drinkers, smokers etc . it just does not seem to be their ideal place. Me on the other hand, well that's a different story all together! But I am here while they are there having fun. I wanted to go, but spending a couple of hundred for just 2 days barely was a bit much. By the time I got the flight, hotel, food, show ticket, margaritas ( Hey! I have priorities when I am there ).. it would be close to $500.

Anyway.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM !!! Wish I was there too!

Ok. This story made me chuckle. A man in Ontario got a fine of $155 for smoking in his vehicle while having a minor present. Once pulled over, the 15 yr old passenger got out of the car and lit a cigarette. The driver still got the ticket even though, legally, both people were smoking. Apparently there is a loop hole in the law and this was the example that showed it. Do you think it is right to get a ticket for smoking in your car while a minor passenger present , also smokes? That is the challenge now!

I love how every little thing now is CHILD ENDANGERMENT!  Street Hockey is illegal in most cities( used to play that a lot with my friends ), Can not have a child sit on your lap while driving ( how do you think I learned to drive??)  can not smoke a cigarette in the car if you have a minor with you ( ever heard of rolling down the window..even in minus 20 ) . Can not go for a bike ride unless you have all the protective gear (knee pads, elbow pad, helmut, special goggles, gloves, sneakers, extra padding in the shirts.) refelctive lights, headlight. It would be just a crime if some kid fell off the bike and got scratched up a bit! All the things I did as a kid is now ENDANGERMENT ! Oh Please...SHUT UP !

I love how these celebrity/ athletes "apologize" for their actions...but never really say sorry.. only sorry they got caught. Chris Brown beat the tar out of Rhianna after the Grammys. Today he released this statement :"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired..... Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. " So is he sad for beating down a woman or is he sad for being caught? He never speculates on that! As far as the media reports being worng... yeah right!! WOMAN BEATER !

Same with Micheal Phelps... "It was a bad mistake..I don't take drugs ... and I get drug tested all the time ... you can look at the records and you can see." Uh- huh...SHUT UP !

Same as Todd Bertuzzi... crocodile tears while saying sorry for beating down Steve Moore ( who to this day still can not play hockey much less anything else ). Sniffle..sniffle... sorry! SHUT UP !

ADMIT IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD ! Millions of people are watching you crying your eyes out and "beg for forgiveness".. whatever!
