So I finished watching the hockey game on my brand new HD flat screen TV that I got today.. and that's the story of my blog. But before I get into it, I just want to point one thing out.. THERE ARE IDIOTS EVERYWHERE !

So my folks dropped by my place today. I was getting my Christmas present from them.. A Flat Screen TV.

My dad and I go to my favorite store..BESTBUY ! Actually they haven't been that great with me lately and after today, I think I will take my business somewhere else!

We walk around the TV section for a bit, checking out the different models and sizes. I looked at this SONY that was on sale for a great price. That's the one! Let's find a sales guy and get this TV !

So here comes a sales guy and I ask him to help me with the TV and ring it up. He tells me they're sold out of that particular model. Ok. I ask him to then show me one that is comparable to that one. He leads me over to one that was the same price, same size , different make. And also on sale until the end of the weekend!. I said OK, I'll take this one instead. ( Here it comes , folks ) He blurts out..we're sold out of that one too!. I then asked him why would he show me something that was sold out!! What was the point of that? Do you have any in stock that you can sell me at these prices. Don't show me something you dont have in stock.. you have anything in stock to show me or are we going to waste time!  

I could have said more..but my dad was with me and that held me back.

So I look at my dad and say let's get out of here..this is Bullshit!

We go over to FUTURESHOP. I know. I know. They are the same company. Yes I know. But they have to be better.

Anyway we go to the new one and look around. We get a sales guy name Geoff ( funny spelling ). After 15 min. I am the proud owner of a 32inch Flat screen SHARP AQUOS and a Digital box from SHAW.

DONE !

We get home and I realize something. Although I do have some knowledge in electronics, I do not however have a degree in WIRING a SPACE SHUTTLE! Yikes! This wire goes here, the other end over there. Then take these wires to connect here..the other end at these ends. Take the coax cable from the wall to the converter box, then take the other coax cable and run it from the box to the TV. But make sure the other wires are installed so you can get TRUE high Definition.

DONE !

Now call SHAW cable to activate the converter box. Oh great! "Thank you for calling SHAW. FOR SERVICE IN ENGLISH,PUSH ONE." Beep. "Thank you. For home services, push one, for business, push two." BEEP. " For residential Shaw phone, push one. For internet, push 2. For cable push three".BEEP. "One moment please". Ohh great! On hold . A few minutes go by." Thank you for holding. All our operators are busy. Current wait is 30 min. For call back..push.."BEEP.

About 40 minutes later, I get a call. YEAH ! Hook me up! " Can you give me the serial number of the box!". Are you shitting me? I just installed it all. Dammit. Ok. Here.

About 10 minutes... VOILA !! HIGH DEF!

DONE ! 

I watch the hockey game and think .. it looks the same as on my old TV. I switch channels to see the difference. WOW !! HOLY SHIT ! WOW ! I felt like I was at the game!
